Terms of Service

1. The service
LegacyVerse lets you create a private, text-only AI representation of a living adult from stories and other material you provide and approve. It is offered by [legal entity name], [address] ("LegacyVerse").
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement.
3. Permission is required
You may create a profile only for yourself, or for a living adult who has personally given you permission. You must withdraw a profile if that person asks. LegacyVerse records the permission you declare but cannot verify it independently. You are responsible for its accuracy.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of the stories and material you add. You give LegacyVerse permission to store and process it only to provide the service to you. You confirm you have the right to share it, and that it doesn't unnecessarily include other people's private information.
5. What the AI can and can't do
Answers are generated by AI from memories you approved. They can be incomplete or wrong, and they are not the words of the real person unless shown as a direct quote. LegacyVerse is not a substitute for medical, legal, financial or mental health advice, or for grief counselling.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use LegacyVerse to impersonate anyone, deceive others, harass, or create content about someone without their permission. Don't try to access other people's profiles or interfere with the service.
7. Early access
Early-access features may change, be limited or be unavailable at times.
8. Plans and payment
Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are shown in US dollars, plus any applicable taxes.
Plans renew automatically each month or year until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. Packages, add-ons and gifts are one-time payments and never renew. Gifts are activated when the recipient accepts their invitation.
[Refund policy, tax handling and gift-card expiry rules to be confirmed with a lawyer before payments go live.]
9. Pausing, cancelling and deleting
You can pause a profile, withdraw permission or delete your account at any time. See our Privacy Policy for how deletion works.
10. Liability
[Limitation of liability and warranty disclaimers to be drafted by counsel.]
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. [To be confirmed by counsel.]
